Ferrari has reached an agreement with the Swiss company Vellas to develop NFT for Scuderia fans. The starting shot will be given next year.
Formula 1 has long been one of the sports that aims to exploit the potential of NFTs. Now the Scuderia Ferrari racing team is about to launch its own collection. To this end, Ferrari has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Swiss technology company Velas Network AG. While some competitors in the racing series are already creating their first NFTs, Ferrari is entering here with a slight delay.
In an official statement, the Italian sports car manufacturer announced that it is delighted to have Velas Network AG as a partner. Ferrari and Velas will offer fans the opportunity to own digital collectibles starting in March 2022. Then the new racing season in Formula 1 begins.
The multi-year agreement provides for the creation of exclusive digital content for Scuderia fans. In addition, Velas becomes the main sponsor of the Ferrari eSports Series. Ferrari’s own eSports team is also sponsored by Velas. Compete in the official F1 esports series. The other teams of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship also participate.
Now that we have developed a next-generation blockchain that is built on both sustainability and performance, it was only natural to partner with another icon of excellence, Ferrari. Velas has brought a groundbreaking array of groundbreaking technologies to the blockchain and related products that are now on display at the forefront of motorsports.
Farhad Shagulyamov, CEO and co-founder of Velas Network AG, said in the press release.
Scuderia Ferrari is the most successful Formula 1 team at the time. Throughout its history, it has won a record 16 constructors ‘and 15 drivers’ championships. Seven of them go to Michael Schumacher’s account. The last Formula 1 driver to become world champion in a Ferrari was Kimi Raikkonen in 2007.
